Being raised in this community, I have seen a many and significant
changes in my "Quality of Life" over the past few years.
The days of doors not being locked,
neighbors who knew each other (and the kids names all the way down the block) seem to be gone forever.
They tell me the world has changed, but I think it's really just the people and the focus that
has changed.
I want to put the neighborhood back into our neighborhood parks and will work hard to do so!!
As children we often spent "all day" at our local parks. I remember on lazy summer days when there was nothing
to do, we'd wander over to the park and find so much fun we forgot to go home (until hunger set in.)

We became the park! We played games with other kids we had never met and had a blast.
Presently, we need more summer action at our local parks, (without any extra cost) where our kids can be safe,
involved and well supervised by their parents.
Bless the Jessee-Pifer neighborhood for
coming together and saving THEIR own local park. They became aware of how much a local
park can mean to the residents and took action to make it so.
I will work closely with the Valparaiso Park Department towards this
goal. Community starts with family! Family starts with quality time interacting together!! Our local parks
can help cement our family and neighborhood relationships!!!
