Feb 18, 2011: The filing date for the May primary has past, Bob McCasland is not listed, and here is why. We don't have the financial resources of the incumbent, and felt that a faction of the party is controlled by a few members that have purchased the party away from the people. This faction has become concerned only with maintaining its own self interest, rather than the interests of the people they are to represent in the City of Valparaiso. This is the reason for the current mayor to run again, even after stating he would only serve two terms. The" Pay to Play" group is concerned they will lose their investment in the current administration. This campaign will be decided in the November election. I will run for the Mayor of Valparaiso as an Independent. I wish to thank my supporters, and my family for backing my decision, and I will be out talking to all the citizens of Valparaiso!
